Carolyn Sue Davis, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, May 16, 2025, at Meadow View Memory Care. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Carolyn Sue is survived by her loving husband, Jerald “Jerry” Davis; son, Jeff (Laurie) Davis of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Michelle “Shelly” Foote of Corona, CA; and grandchildren, Stephanie and Jeffrey.

Carolyn Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and her son-in-law, Darren Foote.

Carolyn Sue was born on October 3, 1936, daughter of Delmar and Helen Schnug Elscott, in Newton. She graduated from Newton High School in 1955 and Coe College in 1959. She married Jerry Davis on January 31, 1960 in Newton. Sue worked as an assistant librarian at Franklin Junior High School for 33 years. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and was active with their alumnae group. Carolyn was also a member of the Hawkeye Bicycle Association.

Carolyn Sue enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially gardening and taking care of animals. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carolyn Sue’s family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Meadow View Memory Care and St. Croix Hospice for their exceptional care.
