Carol Joy LaChance, age 80 of League City, TX, formerly of Yorkville, IL passed away on May 6, 2022 at The Crossings Nursing Home in League City, TX. She was born on August 8, 1941 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Melvin and Elsie (Odom) Fischer.
Carol was united in marriage on May 12, 1962 in Huntsville, AL to Mr. Terry LaChance and they spent the next 31 years happily together until his passing. Carol spent many happy times going to Wisconsin for vacations, watching her children’s sports events, bowling, serving on the Yorkville Library Board, and playing cards and board games. She was an avid collector of cardinal mementos and was always looking to add to her collection. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Carol is survived by her children, Russell LaChance of Antioch, IL, and Jaclyn (David) Was of League City, TX; her granddaughter, Melissa Was of League City, TX; and her brother Richard (Char) Fischer of St. Louis, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Elsie Fischer; her husband Terry LaChance; and her brother Robert Fischer.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 406 Walnut Street, Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Bristol, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 N Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL.
