Carol Ann Mitchell
- January 16, 2021
Carol Ann Mitchell was born February 21, 1949 in Cleveland Ohio to John and Clara Evans, who preceded her in death. Carol gave her life to Christ at an early age and carried her beliefs with her throughout her days.
She began her life in the workforce at the early age of 15 as a press operator while still attending High School. Moving on to work at Value City as the head of the retail department where she would remain until she retired.
After Carol retired, she greatly enjoyed traveling to different states, such as Florida and Vegas to see all they had to offer.
Carol met and married James Allen Hartley, who preceded her in death, and from this union three children were born, Vanessa, Deshawn, and James Allen.
In 1976, after the untimely death of her first husband, Carol met and married Robert Mitchell, who preceded her in death, and from this union she was blessed with her last child, Robert.
Carol was a loving and devoted mother who always made everyone around her feel loved and cared for in her life. Nothing made her happier than seeing her family together and watching her shows. She was the biggest Michael Jackson fan you would ever find and his music was a staple in their home.
She had the personality that made you happy by just being near her. Conversations were never dull and she could keep you laughing for hours on end, even when she was talking mess. An independent woman who took pride in her self-sufficiency even in her last days.
Carol was called home on January 9, 2021 after living a full and happy Life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, John and Clara; sisters, Josephine and Johnnie Mae; grandson, Donald; brother-in-law, Wesley Mitchell from Las Vegas and sister-in-law, Curtisene.
Carol Mitchell leaves to mourn her 4 children, Vanessa, DeShawn (Dion), James (Tracey) and Robert (Chaundria); stepson, Maleke (Cho); 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Shirley (pastor Johnny deceased) and Gwendolyn (Clemons, deceased); 1 brother, Robert (Lenore, deceased); 3 sisters-in-law, Josephine, Patricia and Cookie; 2 brothers-in-law, William and Clarence (Doris) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special friends, Chrisanne, Annie Mae, Margaret, Rita and Sally.
Carol was funny and had a great sense of humor…Mom you will be missed. We love you momma and we will see you again.
