Carol Ann Aufmuth

Carol Ann Aufmuth, 79, of Springfield died at 12:27 pm, Monday, December 27, 2021 at St. John’s Hospital.  She was born October 5, 1942 in Springfield, IL to August “Gus” and Mary (Lee) Aufmuth and they preceded her in death.

She is survived by a sister, Rosemary (Dale) Voigt of Issaquah WA; one niece Karen Latimer of Sammamish WA; three nephews, Dennis Voigt of Phoenix AZ, Brian Voigt of Lone Tree CO; and Kevin Voigt of Clinton WA.

Carol was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and Springfield Junior College. She worked in the Medical Records Department at St. John’s Hospital for over 30 years until retiring.  Carol was a member of Christ the King Parish.

Carol contracted Polio as a child, losing the ability to use her legs.  She survived Polio with grace and never let her disability get in the way of enjoying life.  Her bubbly, upbeat, out-going personality, was an inspiration to everyone she met.  Carol was active with the St. John’s Retirees and with her polio support group.

Visitation:  10:00 – 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Christ the King Church.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Christ the King Church with Reverend Clinton Honkomp officiating.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
