Carol A. Bertoia Schoppert
- May 26, 2022
Carol A. Bertoia Schoppert, age 86, of Palatine. Beloved wife of Richard Schoppert and the late Norman Bertoia. Devoted mother to Brad (Liane) Bertoia, Brian (Holly) Bertoia, Mary Beth Landeene, Julie (Chris) Gonzalez, and the late Kathleen Bertoia. Loving Stepmother to Bridget Schoppert. Cherished grandma to Kathleen, Gabrielle, Allison, Courtney (Dan), Michael, Lauren, Dylan, William, Caroline, and Patrick. Dear aunt and cousin to many.
Carol often commented how much she loved life and others loved her in return for providing such a constant positive inspiration. She was always fun and liked to call herself “The Real Estate Momma.” Most importantly, Carol was an awesome and devoted mother to 5 children and a loving wife. Carol found great enjoyment spending summer vacations with family and friends at the lake in Rhinelander, WI and spending winters at her second home in Estero, FL. Carol was a savvy businesswoman and used her skills to start her real estate career in the late 1970’s. Soon she became a top producing realtor in the Northwest suburbs for 30+ years. Throughout her life, Carol fully embraced her Irish heritage, especially every St Patrick’s day. In retirement, Carol loved to socialize with friends over lunches and dinners where a “Lemon Drop” martini was almost always a must.
