He also had three great grandchildren, Ellie, Rhett and a recent addition, Miles. Caesar was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John and Ray, and his sisters Eileen and Stella. His dear sister Geraldine survives him, along with his sister-in- aw, Roseann, and his brother-in-law, Blake Bartaletti. Caesar has numerous nieces and nephews with whom he enjoyed spending time who also survived him. Caesar graduated from St. Phillips High School in Chicago, IL, and from the University of Illinois, Chicago, with a degree in Chemistry and Pharmacy. He sat for the licensing exams in both Arizona and Illinois and passed on his first attempt. He initially worked for a small pharmacy, and then for Eli Lilly and Company as a pharmaceutical salesman. In 1966, Caesar began his entrepreneurial journey by buying pharmacies in Chicago and the suburbs, and at one point owned 5 stores. As their children grew up, Peggy joined him in the business. Caesar and Peggy were great role models, who instilled a tremendous work ethic in their children and grandchildren. He was an active local businessman in Highland Park, IL, where hundreds of young adults had their first job working in retail under his guidance at Gsell’s. After selling their business in 2003, he and Peggy began a well-earned retirement, traveling frequently and eventually relocating to Fontana, WI. They would spend 4 months each winter in Naples, FL, with many of their friends from Fontana. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Open Arms Free Clinic, Inc. (openarmsfreeclinic.org).
