C. Douglas Plank

C. Douglas Plank, 78, of Ashland, Ohio passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Inn at Olentangy Trail in Delaware, Ohio. He was born in Ashland on June 30, 1943 to the late Carl and Rosemon (McCuen) Plank.

As a lifelong learner, he was a graduate of Ashland High School and Ashland College. Doug enjoyed helping the people around him, especially helping children learn. He worked as a teacher for 30+ years. He was also a choir director and Sunday School teacher at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Ashland and sang in various gospel groups. Doug was an avid gardener, musician and reader.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife of 53+ years, Sharon (Kite) Plank; children, Aaron Douglas (Amy) Plank, Eben Winfield (Samantha) Plank, Eleanor Mara (Shawn) Morrison and Seth Gregory (Morgan) Plank; grandchildren, Asher Douglas Plank, Hannah Rose Plank, Kylee Madison Plank, Natalee Morgan (Isaac) Helterbridle, Kennedee Grace Plank, Jaxon Brodie Plank, Ava Catherine Morrison, Corina Elizabeth Morrison, Landon Monroe Plank, Breena Garnett Plank, Daisy Louise Plank and Nolan Mitchell Plank; great-grandson, Nash Finley Helterbridle; and siblings, Roberta Sharon Markworth, Gregory A. (Kristie) Plank and Timothy (Rebecca) Plank.
