Bruce Fichte

Bruce Fichte, age 79, of Palatine. Beloved husband of Helen, nee Rossi. Loving father of Brett (Carolyn) and Brenda (Jim) Schwantz. Dear grandfather of Justin, Megan, Ashlynne (Joe Weber), and Austin. Loving brother of Maxine Bondurant and Royce Fichte. Brother-in-law of John (Kay) Rossi. Dear uncle and friend of many. Bruce worked at Washington National and Aon Corporation in the insurance department for many years. Later in life, he worked at Monson Jewelers in Palatine for nearly 20 years. He was instrumental in the development of the Palatine Amateur Football Association (PAFA) and also served as a Board Member of the Fremd Booster Club. He was an avid reader and woodworker. Bruce was a dedicated family man, and enjoyed attending the sports events of his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28th, 9:30AM- 11:00AM, Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E Northwest Highway, Palatine. Memorial Mass 11:30AM, Tuesday, December 28th, St Theresa Church, 455 N Benton, Palatine. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, Catholic Masses in Bruce’s name would be appreciated.
