Brian Matthew Chance
- November 2, 2021
Brian Matthew Chance, age 45, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born January 13, 1976, in Mansfield, Ohio.
He graduated from Lucas High School and earned his Bachelor degree in Architecture from Kent State University. Brian was currently employed at School Specialties as a space planner. Brian was a huge Ohio State fan and never missed a Buckeyes game. He also enjoyed watching dirt track racing and had a passion for building and flying quadcopters.
A caring, compassionate and kind man, Brian was much loved. He always had a smile on his face to brighten the day, and thought his mother-in-law’s nickname “Sunshine” was ridiculous but deep down he loved it. The nickname never failed to bring a smile to his face in even the worst of times. The world is a little darker without him, but he would truly want his loved ones to find the sunshine again in our lives.
Brian is survived by his wife, Shallon Sampson Chance; three pet ferrets whom he treated like his children, June, Winnie and Jasper; father, Stanley “Butch” Chance; mother, Charlene Daugherty; grandmother, Betty Chance; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Shane and Delania Sampson; two uncles, Mike (Dianna) Chance and Alan (Deb) Chance; an aunt, Sandi (Mick) Conroy; a brother-in-law, Ricky (Terrie) Sampson; and numerous cousins and other dear relatives.
He was preceded in death by his step mother, Glenda Chance; and grandfather, Harold “Pop” Chance.
There will be no visitation or service observed. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
