Brian Eugene Eley, age 57, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Born in Cocoa Beach, Florida on March 17, 1964, he was the son of Patricia Barker of Hendersonville and the late E.W. Bob Eley.
In addition to his father, Brian is also preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Robert Eley.
Prior to moving to Hendersonville, Brian had resided in Cocoa Beach and in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where he graduated high school. A licensed electrician, he was an avid collector of geodes and minerals, and was known as a talented cartoonist and storyteller. Brian loved taking long drives along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
He is survived by, in addition to his mother; his stepfather, Robert “Bob” Barker; one brother, Mark Eley (Christi) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; two stepbrothers, Jeff Barker (Diane) of Wilmington, Ohio and Rick Barker (Sheryl) of Cincinnati, Ohio. Brian is also survived by six nieces, Brittany Eley of Omaha, Nebraska, Rachael Eley of Viera, Florida, Erin Eley of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Sydney Eley of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Amy Barker of Hamilton, Ohio and Lauren Barker of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two cousins, Edmond Eley and Barbara Eley, both of Melbourne, Florida.
A celebration of life for both Brian and Stephen will be held on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Pastor David Woodie officiating.
