Brent Anthony Brown, 34, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. A visitation will be held from 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood Service in Cedar Rapids. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids, with an additional visitation one hour prior. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery, Alburnett, Iowa. The family will host a Celebration of Life on Tuesday from 12 – 7 p.m. at the Toddville American Legion.

Brent was born on February 23, 1990, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Lon and Cheryl (Koeppen) Brown. He attended Alburnett High School and went on to attend Kirkwood Community College and the University of Northern Iowa for welding. Brent was a drywaller and employed by Brown Inc. He enjoyed many things, including being in nature, gardening, fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, collecting coins, and astronomy. His greatest joy was spending time with family. Brent will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Brent is survived and lovingly remembered by his parents, Lon Brown of Marion and Cheryl Brown of Hiawatha; two children, Lexie and Bentley; siblings, Matthew Brown (Kayla Van Horn) and Corey Brown; niece and nephews, Anthony, LeRoy, and Gracelynn; paternal grandmother, Charlotte Brown; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Orlean and Irene Koeppen; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Brown; two infant sisters; and uncle, Martin “Marty” Brown.

Brent’s family deeply appreciates the bond he shared with Keonna Ryan.
