Bonnie Lee Kuhrt, 72 of Huntley, IL and Phelps, WI passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 16, 2021 in Barrington, IL of cancer.
Dr. Kuhrt was born in 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Kenneth and Vivian Brown. She earned an Elementary Education B.A. from Northeastern Illinois University, an M.A. in Education from University of La Verne and a Doctoral Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. She was a beloved teacher in the Community Consolidated School District #15 in Palatine, Illinois who enriched many students’ lives. She became a mentor to many, encouraging and celebrating her students’ achievements throughout their lives.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, at her lake house in northern Wisconsin and traveling to Marco Island, FL.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edwin; her sisters Sandra, Sue and Rebecca. She took great pride in her surviving children, Krissy (Christopher) Vittore, Katherine (Don) Mason and Kenneth (Grace) Kuhrt and her adoring grandchildren Max and Kayla Vittore, Jack and Heidi Mason and Lilia and Otto Kuhrt.
At her request, no service will be held. For those wishing to express condolences, donations will be gratefully accepted for the American Cancer Society.
