Bob G. Maynard

Bob G. Maynard, 89, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Oak Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Baltic, following a period of declining health.
Born in Chapmansville, WV, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Amanda (Mullins) Maynard and a U.S. Amy veteran having served during the Korean War. Bob retired from the City of Cleveland Transit authority as a supervisor after 27 years of employment.
On May 2, 1959, he married his wife, Georgia Ann (Burch) Maynard and together they shared over 61 years of marriage before her passing in July of 2020. Bob will be deeply missed by his daughter, Vandra Dorler of New Philadelphia; his son, Stewart (Judy) Maynard of Michigan; his grandchildren, Rena (Chris) Maynard-Cagle, Amanda (Joe) Hess, Adam Hess, and Eddie Hess; great-grandchildren, Carlos and Devon Maynard; his sister Betty (Irvine) Frealey.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Bob was also preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Hess; a brother, Billy Maynard and his step-mother, Muriel Maynard.
In keeping with his wishes, a private visitation and funeral service is to be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with Pastor Brian Flood officiating and where the New Philadelphia VFW will conduct military honors. Cremation care will follow the service with his cremated remains being scattered alongside his wife in Dover Burial Park’s scattering garden.
