Billy “Bill” Snyder

Billy Joe Snyder, 82, of Williamsburg, Va, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. He was born on September 19, 1938 in Waynesville, NC. He was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Snyder; his mother, Ruby McClure Snyder; and his sister, Vivian Snyder Oliver. He is survived by his wife, Mary Charles Sisk Snyder; his brother, Donald (Bud) Snyder; his sister, Louise (Missy) Coward (Fred); his 3 daughters, Tammy Thompson (Kenney), Teresa Michonski (Bernard) and Dawn Owens; his grandchildren, Nikki Boyters (Ricky), Michelle New, Lindsey Snyder, Brian Steffen (Brooke), Sean Steffen (Ashley), Niki Thompson (Brian); nephews, Donald Coward and Tim Coward (Sae); and his 11 great grandchildren.
Bill worked at Burger Chef and spent many years working for Anheuser- Busch. Bill liked to go to NASCAR races with his family and he also loved to go fishing and play golf. But what Bill loved most, was being around his family, cooking on the grill and telling stories of things that he did in his lifetime. Bill also loved country music, his favorite song was by George Jones, “He stopped loving her today”.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 29, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM with service to follow at Bucktrout Funeral Home.
