Beverly B. Bader, 95, of Hiawatha, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022, at the Hiawatha Care Center. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha with the Rev. Dr. Dean Rothchild officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Marengo Cemetery, Marengo. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at Zion Lutheran Church, Hiawatha. Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice. Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Beverly is survived by her son, Richard (Peggie) Bader of Hiawatha; three grandchildren, Scott (Diane) Bader of Cedar Rapids, Tammie (Jason) Bauge of Huxley and Wendy (Dan) Hill of Vinton; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Bader, Carter and Morgan Bauge, Austin Bader and Clinton and Dalton Hill; and two great-great-grandchildren, Lily and Joey Bader. Also surviving Beverly are many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Eugene “Burnell,” Cletus and Clarence “Bud” Bennett; her three sisters, Winogene Mrkvicka, Ila Bowers and Loretta Simpson; two ex-husbands; and one great-granddaughter.

Beverly Bernice Bennett was born Oct. 29, 1926, to William and Bertha Mae Taylor Bennett. She attended Iowa Valley high school and played basketball in the girls’ state tournament in 1945. Beverly graduated with the Class of 1945. She was united in marriage to Glen Bader in 1946, and the couple later divorced. To this union her son Richard was born. Beverly married Garth Ridenour and they later divorced. She worked 36 years at Amana Refrigeration, retiring in 1989. After retiring, Beverly worked part time for Target in Iowa and Arizona. She was an avid bowler, square dancer, and bead crafter. Beverly loved music, especially Czech, Big Band and Marches.
