Bevaline Mae Lown was born June 28, 1930, in Blue Earth, Minn., the daughter of Cecil and Nellie (Parsons) Stewart. She lived in Minnesota for the first four years of her life until moving to North English where she graduated from North English High School in 1947. On Feb. 12, 1949, Bev was united in marriage to Stanley Lown at the North English Christian Church Parsonage. She worked at Johnson’s Locker while in school and for a short time after she was married. She stayed home to help on the farm and take care of their children, she later worked for Evans Photography for 18 years, taking school pictures. She retired in 1994. Bev was a member of the North English Christian Church. She enjoyed painting pictures, doing crafts and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Bev died on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at the age of 93 years.

She is survived by her son Ron and wife Kendra Lown of Walford; five grandchildren, Brian (Natasha) Lown, Jaime (Jerome) Young, Ryann (Alex) Lehnertz, Ashley (Mike) Cauliflower and Breanne (Adolfo) Benitez; granddaughter-in-law, Courtney Lown; and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; husband; three sons, Randy, Roger and Rick Lown; and a grandson, Brad Lown.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time.
