Betty Lou Larson

Betty Lou Larson, age 84 of Shabbona, IL passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was born in DeKalb, IL on August 7, 1939 the daughter of John and Ethel (Gentry) Swineheart.
Betty was united in marriage on October 21, 1960 to Mr. Ronald Larson and they spent the next 64 years happily together. Mrs. Larson was a longtime and devoted member of the Waterman Bible Church in Waterman, IL. She served in many roles at the church, but most notable as a Sunday school teacher for 42 years. She was formerly employed as a Cook at Indian Creek High School, where she worked for 25 years. Ron and Betty loved to travel. Noting that a 2 month trip to Alaska was their favorite trip together. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Betty is survived by her husband, Ronald Larson of Shabbona, IL; her children, Ronald Dean (Bonny) Larson of Panama City, FL, Dawn (Ed) Hansen of Plainfield, IL and Dale Larson of Paw Paw, IL; her grandson, Joshua Hansen of Plainfield, IL; her brother, Robert (Leann) Swineheart of Huntley, IL; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ethel Swineheart; also her brothers, John, Thomas, Donald, Marion and James Swineheart.
A Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 PM on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 East Garfield Street, Waterman, IL with Pastor Craig Miller, officiating. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit from 4:30 PM until the Hour of Service on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the Funeral Home in Waterman, IL.
