Betty L. Thompson

Betty L. Thompson 87, of Springfield, died at 6:09 am, Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born November 15, 1934 in Cypress, IL, to George W. and Rosa Johnson. She married Mark F. Thompson in 1969 and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2009.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; son, Keith Price on September 16, 2016, and son-in-law, Ed Bentley on May 19, 2012.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Bentley of Springfield, and two grandchildren, Trevor and Travis Price.

Betty was a member of St. Aloysius Church and Women’s Club of Springfield. She was very active in various golf leagues and enjoyed traveling.

She previously had worked for Dwight O’Keefe Insurance Agency and retired in 1992 as a Supervisor from Horace Mann Insurance.

Visitation: 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 12:00 pm, Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield with Reverend George Nellikunnel officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Aloysius Church.
