Barry Mike Blaylock was born Jan. 30, 1947, on the family farm near Kinross, Iowa. He was a twin son of Marvin Franklin and Jessie Irene (Edmundson) Blaylock. He grew up in the Kinross area and graduated from English Valleys High School in 1965. Mike served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. On July 3, 1981, Mike was united in marriage to Margaret Mary Hanson White at the Catholic Church in What Cheer. They lived in the North English community and enjoyed wintering in Arizona in the recent years. He was a lifelong farmer. Mike was a member of the North English Christian Church and the Keota VFW. He enjoyed farming, visiting with friends and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mike died on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at his home in North English at the age of 76 years.

Mike is survived by his wife, Margaret of North English; three daughters, Lisa (Mike) Dugger of Lake Mills, Teresa (Kyhl) Schmidt of Lone Tree and Ann (Allan) Sieren of North English; 10 grandchildren, Ali, Stephanie and Charlie Dugger, Maggie, Abbie and Michael Schmidt, Emyle and Seth Thompson and Tyler and Madi Sieren; four great-grandchildren, Thrusher Thompson, Brayleigh and Kinleigh Dyer and Nash Sieren; a sister, Karyl (Bill) Miller of Wellman; three sisters-in-law, Michelle Blaylock of Virginia, Sandy Blaylock of Florida and Elaine Mowry of Williamsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a twin brother, Pat Blaylock; brother, Gary Blaylock; a sister, Karen (Marvin) Gent; brother-in-law, Arnold Hanson; sister-in-law, Kathleen Hanson; and a nephew, Robin Blaylock.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in the Brethren Cemetery, South English. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home in North English.
