Barb was born on September 15, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Opal M. Miller (Langfitt) and James L. Miller Sr. She was a 1970 graduate of Jefferson High School, Cedar Rapids. On April 4, 1990, Barb was united in marriage to William R. Satkamp, of Cedar Rapids. She worked for 15 years as a lab technician for Quaker Oats. Prior to that she was a lab technician at PMX and Cargill. She was also a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where she volunteered in several capacities. One of Barb’s greatest joys was helping plan, prepare and serve St Paul’s annual Christmas dinner. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and the company of the many rescue animals that she and Bill adopted over the years. She was very proud of being a Black Belt at Jung’s Tae Kwon Do, and taught there for several years with her husband Bill. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
