Barbara Ann Colony was born Aug. 31, 1953, in Iowa City, the daughter of Carl and Jane (Brown) Colony. She attended Clear Creek Schools, graduating with the Class of 1971. On Aug. 25, 1973, she was united in marriage to James R. “Jim” Tandy at the Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin. She was the epitome of “Mom” and “Farm Wife,” doing anything and everything for her family and to help Jim on the farm. Outside the home she also was instrumental in opening the preschool in Oxford years ago, and had an in-home daycare and worked outside the home in other places along the way. Barb enjoyed her friends, especially those who shared her love of quilting. She was an animal lover, no matter how small and what sort it was, she always had a place in her heart for them while creating a sanctuary for many over the years. She always had gardens of beautiful flowers, and was famous for her fudge, especially during hunting season. Barb cherished her family, especially her grandchildren!
Her family includes her husband, Jim and their children, Tom Tandy and his children Drew Schulte and Trevor Tandy (and their mother Kim Tandy); John Tandy (Jami) and their son, Jackson Tandy; and Julia Bulechek (Jason) and their children, Delaney Bulechek, Audrey Bulechek and Tristan Bulechek. Barb’s siblings include Cathy Bunnell (Thomas), her twin Beverly Seat (Stephen), and Cyndi Mick (Stephen). She also is survived by several nieces and nephews, her sweet dog Molly, and her very special lifelong friends; Darlene Nielsen, Morrie and Marilyn Pitlick, and Bob and Ann Wood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jane; and her in-laws, Ray and Mary Tandy.
