Austin P. Tighe, 81, of Fontana, WI and Naples, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023. He was the loving husband of Suzanne Henry Tighe for over thirty years.
Austin was born in Hoboken, NJ on November 26, 1941 and was the son of the late Mary and Austin Tighe. He is survived by his children Austin Tighe, Jr., of Austin, TX; Maureen Silverman (Brent), of Hudson, OH; and stepdaughter Bridget Callahan of McHenry, IL. Austin was preceded in death by his son Kevin Tighe (Jayme) and siblings Anne and Bobby. His legacy is honored by his grandchildren Cara, Connor, Ethan, Caroline, Kate, Julia, Brody, and Garrett.
Austin had a long, successful career in education and publishing, spanning fifty years. He began Tighe Publishing Services with his wife, Suzanne, providing content to most major educational publishers. His interpersonal skills enabled him to successfully lead organizations both large and small.
Austin was a man of great intelligence, which he deftly applied in creating a full and rewarding life. His humor made him a tremendous life partner and friend to those fortunate enough to know him. He was extremely kind and generous, giving to charities centered around children. He loved to travel, read, golf, and make people laugh. Austin will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. November 1, 2023 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 137 Dewey Ave, Fontana-On-Geneva Lake, WI 53125.
