Audrey Louise Hauter passed away on August 3, 2025, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at People’s Church Unitarian Universalist, 4980 Gordon Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405.

Interment will be private.

Audrey was born on December 27, 1935, in Omaha, Neb., to William and Inez (Selander) Coons. She worked as a elementary school substitute teacher for the Center Point School District until her retirement. Audrey was active in the People’s Church, the League of Women Voters, the United Nations Association of the USA, and various garden clubs and bridge clubs. She loved to spend time with her family and was loved by all.

Audrey is survived by her children, Sonja (Bernard Miller) Hauter and Steven (Melinda Nagle) Hauter.

She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew John Hauter, her daughter Lisa Anne Hauter, her parents, and her brothers Charles Allen Coons and Thomas William Coons.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or the League of Women Voters of Linn County, Iowa.
