Asrat T Gizaw

Beloved father, husband, grandfather and friend.
Asrat Teferra Gizaw, 75, passed away on 13 November 2021. He was born on 18 May 1946 in Tulu Bolo, Ethiopia to mother, Asegedetch Wakene and father, Teferra Gizaw.
Asrat was 1 of 4 boys in his family and a provider. He was a well respected, heralded soldier in the Ethiopian Air Force.
He composed musicĀ and truly enjoyed playing many instrumentsĀ amongst his band members while in the Ethiopian Air Force.
Asrat met Zenebech (Zenny) Sahle in the Late 70s. They were married on May 1st 1979 in the Municipality of Debre Zeit, Ethiopia. Together they raised 2 children: Fitsum A. Teferra, Merron A. Teferra.
He was a soft spoken and kind hearted spirit with a strong will.
Asrat never surrendered to his afflictions and always persevered with the greatest of hope to live.
He fought a long and hard battle, however, his family wholeheartedly believes he is truly and finally at peace now in the presence of God.
Asrat is survived by his wife and children.
Although he is gone, he will forever live on in our hearts.
God saw you getting tired
and set you free,
as he put his merciful arms around you and whispered,
“Come to me”.
