Anna May Miller, 77, died peacefully Tuesday, April 9, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Monday, April 15, 2024 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Iowa City. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:30 PM to 6 PM at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City, where the Rosary will be recited at 3 PM. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Regina Foundation or to the Daughters of the American Revolution for the Iowa Room at the DAR National Headquarters in Washington D.C.

Anna May was born September 21, 1946 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, the daughter of Glenn and Louise (Schlenk) Pauley Sr. She was a 1964 graduate of Regina High School. On October 2, 1965 Anna May married Charles Miller at St. Mary Church.

Following high school, she became a dental assistant for Dr. Kottemann. Anna May was later employed at UIHC in the payroll department, where she worked until her retirement.

Anna May was a member of St. Mary Church, where she was a past president of the Church Council. She was very active in the Nathaniel Fellows Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution serving in all offices, including regent. Anna May was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital, with over 2,500 hours of service and with the Mercy Hospital Guild where she was the Guild president. She was active as a den mother for Cub Scouts, while Blaine was a member.

Anna May was an avid needlepointer and an award-winning quilter.

Anna May is survived by her husband Charles and their children, Blaine Charles (Marlana) Miller and Stephanie Louise Miller, both of Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Connor Charles Miller and Quinn Allen Miller; her sister-in-law, Ann Pauley; and numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Anna May was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Glenn Pauley.
