Anita Lee Sheaffer

Anita Lee Sheaffer, 62, of Mill Spring, NC passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021.

Anita, a native of Henderson County, was born on March 14, 1959, in Hendersonville, NC to the late Audie Lee Taylor and Thelma Jeanette Johnson Taylor.  Anita is also preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Kenneth Taylor Sheaffer and her aunt, Eula Hollifield.

Anita was born and raised in Henderson County and was self-employed before becoming disabled.  She was also an active member of Mud Creek Baptist Church.

Anita was a very special person.  She was kind, loved making friends, and tried to help anyone and everyone she could.  She always held on to her faith in God and did her best to follow his path.  Anita’s greatest achievement  was being the best mother she could to Stephanie & Brandon. Her second greatest achievement was saving and adopting Pitties, which she has passed along that passion to her children. She worked so hard her entire life to provide for her family, as long as she could until she became disabled.  Even when she became disabled she did not stop trying to help others.  Anita had simple joys in life.  What made her the happiest was being around her children, friends, and other loved ones, just spending time together, and enjoying a meal together.  She really enjoyed cooking and feeding people.  After she was disabled, she also found another passion, her garden.  She was so proud of it, and worked outside in her garden daily.  Everyone who knew her knows her smile could light up the entire room.  She will be missed dearly.

Anita is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Lee Craven (fiancé Joseph Kenneth Brown) of Hendersonville, NC and son, William Brandon Craven of Zirconia, NC; stepdaughter’s Becky Sheaffer of WA, Taylor Adelle Sheaffer of Jacksonville, FL and stepson, Kenneth Phillip Sheaffer (Wife Tera) of Milton, WA; step grandchildren, Guinevere Natalie, Toby Phillip, and Jeff Allen Sheaffer; sister-in-law, Robin Lynne Sheaffer of Lacey, WA and brother-in-law, Douglas Alan Sheaffer of Sunnyvale, CA; and several first cousins on her mother’s side of the family.  Anita is also survived by her fur babies, Luna Mae and Star Star, who are both pittie mixes. Anita will also be missed by her grand-fur babies, Captain, a pittie, Dexter, a pittie mix, and four kitties, Charlie, Momma Kitty, Baybee Ann, and Axel.  Her grand-fur babies were very important to Anita, they will surely miss her attention and love!

A memorial and celebration of Anita’s life will be held at Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 2PM with Pastor Greg Mathis officiating. A reception will follow in the hospitality room.

Memorial contributions may be made in Anita’s memory to a GoFundMe fundraiser which is being setup to help care for Anita’s beloved fur babies, cover the cost of funeral expenses not covered by insurance, and to help cover other expenses required to take care of Anita’s other affairs.
