Angelina “Angie” A. Squires

Angelina “Angie” A. Squires, 89, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at The Estate Senior Living and Spa. She was born December 1, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Joseph and Jennie Petta Brancaccio. She married Chester “Chet” L. Squires on October 27, 1963 and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2003.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Frank J. Brancaccio.
Survivors include her two sons, Robert “Bob” L. (Donna J.) Squires and Thomas E. Squires, both of Springfield; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; and several cousins.
Angie has been a resident of Springfield since 1963. She was a founding member of Calvary Temple Christian Center, now Calvary Church. She was very active at church, being involved with Life Focus, the day care, Sunday School, Junior Church Leader, C2 Small Group Leader and several other volunteer positions. She also worked at Phillips Bros Printing and retired after years of service. She was also on the Board of Directors for Springfield Right to Life and Capitol Retirement Village.
Angie loved being with her family and friends, cooking and entertaining any chance she could.
Visitation: 10 – 11:30 am, Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.
Funeral Service: 11:30 am, Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastors Mark Johnson and Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow at Horse Creek Cemetery in Pawnee.
Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Church in Springfield, IL and to Springfield Right to Life.
