Angela Marie Schultz
Cedar Rapids
Angela Marie Schultz, 82 of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, December 9, 2024, after a brief illness. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Teahen Funeral Home is caring for Angela’s family.
Angela is survived by her children, Mark (Angela) Schultz of Davenport, Joan Schultz (Pat Hurt) and Sarah Augustine both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Katie, Thomas, Alex Schultz of Davenport, and Meghan (Matt) Mueller of Marion; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and a nephew; and her special four-legged companion Kona.
Angela was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, David; and her sister, Mary Jo Wilford.
Angela was born on March 4, 1942, daughter of Herman and Agnes (Sullivan) Gutmann in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from St. Patrick Catholic School in 1960 and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Rochester, MN in 1963, with her nursing degree. Angela married her high school sweetheart, David Schultz, on June 1, 1963. From this union came her greatest blessings, her children.
Angela worked at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids from 1963 to 1972 and for Dr. Stiles at Schueller, Stiles and Finn from 1972 to 1987. She later worked for Aurora Medical Group in Wisconsin until her retirement in 2010.
Angela had a love for plants, birds, chocolate and Hawaii. She traveled to Hawaii countless times where she enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. Angela volunteered her time by crocheting baby blankets for newborns at St. Luke’s Hospital and for puppies at the Cedar Valley Humane Society. She could always be counted on to donate some of her delicious baked goods for many fundraisers, events, family and friends. Above all, Angela loved spending time with her family.
Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Humane Society or to the Cedar Rapids Imagination Library by the Cedar Rapids Public Library Foundation.
