Angela D. Hicks

Marion

Our constant source of positivity, love, and laughter, Angela D. Hicks has completed her earthly journey and has moved ahead to the next realm. She graced our lives with a sparkle that could light up the darkest corners of our hearts, and an unmistakably brilliant smile. We celebrate Angie’s uniquely vibrant spirit and the countless acts of love she bestowed upon us all.

Born with an indominable spirit, Angie brought happiness and beauty to the simplest of moments. Her voice was a song, her wit was dry but quick, and her intelligence unparalleled. She loved “bad dad jokes,” and often shared them with members of her team at Empower. Angie had the biggest heart of anyone you could ever know, and was quick to sacrifice for the good of others. She effortlessly touched the lives of strangers and friends alike.

Her legacy that will now be borne by her husband of 15 years, Tim Hicks, her son, Mathew (Jewelia) Hicks, and grandson, Alun Hicks, and her son, Parker Hicks, is one of love, compassion, and positive outlook. She leaves behind a weaving of memories that will forever warm our lives. Angie’s spirit will continue to whisper to her grandmother, Blanche Siegling, her mother, Kathleen Siegling, her sister, Robin (Adam) Mangold, and her brother, Byungsuk Kim Siegling, in the gentle rustle of wind in the Iowa corn fields. Her laughter will always echo in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to experience its magic. She has returned to the loving arms of her late father, James Siegling, an aunt, Diane Naaktgeboren, and grandparents.

We should remember her as she would want us to: with laughter on our lips, joy in our hearts, and a Disney trip in the planning. Her light shall forever guide us through the darkest nights, reminding us to embrace life’s beauty and to love one another fully and unconditionally.
