Alberta “Berdie” Brumenschenkel

Alberta “Berdie” Brumenschenkel

Someone once said, “love makes the world go around.” If that is true, then the world has been spinning faster with our Aunt Berdie’s presence.

Berdie was a wonderful aunt to all of us, and gave us memories to last a lifetime. She shared with us her gift of laughter, and left this world December 4, 2021 taking that laughter with her. Born November 7, 1928, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hallabrin Brumenschenkel. Berdie graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1946, with a talent for art. After working for Therm-O-Disc in Mansfield, Berdie moved to the Akron area, where she eventually retired from the offices of the General Tire Company.

Berdie is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families: Suzie (Dave) Ferguson, Denny Grassel, Dolly King, Becky (Mike) Jalbrzikowski, Mark (Jackie) Minich, John (Marilyn) Minich, Jeff (Karen) Minich, Harriet Minich, and John (Marilyn) Brumenschenkel.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Esther Brubach and Marie Clay; her brother, Al Brumenschenkel; brothers and sister-in-law, Bill Brubach, Al Grassel, Elmer Minich, Don Clay, and Kate Brumenschenkel; nephews, Gary Brumenschenkel and Larry Brumenschenkel; and her best friend for over 60 years, Betty Tipton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cavalier Rescue USA, c/o Carolyn Stigler, 6400 N. Paseo Tamayo, Tucson, AZ 85750.

She loved us so beautifully; she will remain in our hearts forever.

The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Berdie.
