Albert Burleson Christensen, 89, passed away on Thursday; December 10, 2020 in Fort Worth.
Al was born January 7, 1931 in Rainbow (Somervell County), Texas to John and Myrtle Caldwell Christensen. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Al married Joann Elizabeth Cheeves on April 23, 1949 in Irving, Texas. He was a very devout Christian, was a member of and a deacon at Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury as well as a Youth Sunday School teacher for over 50 years up until this past year. Al was an accomplished musician, primarily on the saxophone and was also a sports enthusiast. He was a very loving husband, a caring father and grandfather almost to the point of over caring.
Al was preceded in death by his parents and by three brothers, Odin Christensen, Homer Christensen and David Christensen.
He is survived by his wife of almost (72) years, Joann Christensen; his son, Jeff Christensen and wife Ann; three daughters, Pam Aldriedge and husband Sam, Linda Christensen and Gretchen Carvajal and husband Charlie; six grandchildren, Skip Aldriedge, David Christensen, Erika Romada, Jaclyn Disher, Morgan Christensen and Christian Carvajal; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Fakey Johnston; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6pm. to 8pm. Tuesday; December 15, 2020 at Martins Funeral Home in Granbury.
Private graveside services will be held at 1:00PM. Wednesday; December 16, 2020 at Squaw Creek Cemetery in Rainbow, Texas with Dr. Mark Forrest officiating under the direction of Martins Funeral Home of Granbury.
A Memorial Service for Al will be held and announced at a later date.
