Adele I. Sawatzki

Adele I. Sawatzki, 92, of Medina, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at her home. She was born September 13, 1928, in Koenigstreu, Germany, to the late Adolf and Helene (Brodalla) Richter.
She committed her life to follow Jesus at an early age and lived her entire life according to His will. Adele loved her family and friends and was privileged to close out her days at her home with many friends and family stopping in to minister to her. She was an adventurous woman and enjoyed flowers and gardening in her free time.
Adele is survived by two children, Ursel (Chris) Vaughn and Warner (Sharon) Sawatzki; five grandchildren, Kevin Vaughn, Ryan Vaughn, Valerie (Brian) Eichhorn and Dan and Melissa; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Armidt (Anita) Richter and Arthur (Gisela) Richter; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sawatzki in 2013; son, Wilfred Sawatzki; and sister, Edith Speigel.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with her brother, Art Richter officiating. She will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery beside her husband.
