Cedar Rapids
Aaron Lee Kidd, 34, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on December 27, 2024. Born on January 7, 1990, in Cedar Rapids, Aaron was a dreamer with a creative and innovative mind.
Aaron’s passions were as diverse as they were intense. Whether it was motorcycles, cars, gaming, or computers, Aaron poured his energy and talent into everything he loved.
His fascination with storytelling and technology often led to lengthy but lively discussions about the lore of Star Trek, The Matrix, Sword Art Online, and Fullmetal Alchemist, among many others.
There was never a time Aaron was not researching something, whether it was to help create something or just to satisfy his ever-thinking mind. He loved sharing his knowledge with those around him.
Whether riding his motorcycle or driving his Challenger, often the open road is all he needed. Everyone who knew him knew he had a need for speed.
At a young age he learned how to sew, which began his passion of creating things for others. At the beginning it was sewing pillows, then as an adult it was on to woodworking. He made keep sake boxes for his children and nieces. He was even known to make gifts that often required a screwdriver to open.
Aaron was a giver. A giver of his talents. He alongside his children completed many projects including remodeling parts of his home. Aaron enjoyed building computers. He and his children were often found gaming together whether on their computers or Xbox. Aaron treasured every moment spent with his children.
Aaron loved to take things apart and even sometimes put them back together, especially vehicles.
There simply was nothing Aaron couldn’t do when he put his mind to it.
Aaron’s children were his pride and joy.
His loyalty and devotion to his family and friends were unlike any other and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Aaron is survived by his mother, Doreen Kidd, father, Doug (Michele) Kidd; his siblings, Jason Kidd, Jamie Kidd, and Sarah (Timothy) Fisher; his nieces, Breanna, Savannah and Lillianna Fisher; his children, Payton and Alphonze; and his dear friend and Alphonze’s mother, Jessica Zaugg.
Out of respect for Aaron’s wishes, there will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, consider spending time enjoying something Aaron loved or sharing memories of him with others who loved him.
One to beam up Scotty
