     Gwendolyn Blanche (Calloway)Rudolph was born on March 30,1936 in Birmingham, Alabama in Jefferson County to Wiley Calloway and Dorothy Philpot (later White). Gwendolyn was the youngest of two children. Gwendolyn adored her older brother by two years, Theophilus, “Ted, “Thee” White.  Due to the life changing circumstances of her mother Dorthy Philpot (White) becoming blind and disable, Gwendolyn was raised by her maternal grandmother Annie Pearl Perkins.  

     Gwendolyn attended Catholic school in Birmingham, Alabama were her beloved grandmother worked as the nutritional cook. Gwendolyn graduated from Immaculata High School in 1954. She pursued a college degree at Lawson Community College in Birmingham, Alabama.  

     Gwendolyn later married her first love, Richard Rudolph Jr and gave birth to her only loving son Michael Jerome Rudolph (Aretha). Gwendolyn worked many years in a clerical compacity at a local Birmingham, Al. hospital until she became disable and had to leave the work force. Shortly after, Gwendolyn relocated to Cleveland, Ohio to be near her mother and brother. 

    Gwendolyn was known to be a very intelligent and witty person. She had a beautiful smile and caring disposition. Gwendolyn was proceeded in death by her husband Richard Rudolph Jr, mother Dorthy White and brother Theophilus, “Ted” White. She leaves behind her beloved son Michael Jerome Rudolph, daughter- in- law “daughter” Aretha Brown-Rudolph, immediate in-law Gloria J. Brown, Roger L. Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends from New York, Cleveland, Birmingham to Georgia.
