Zorica Jovanovic

Zorica Jovanovic (nee Grkovic), 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her son and daughters, on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Zorica was born on February 9, 1933, in Orahovac, Yugoslavia, to Djordje and Milica Grkovic. Throughout her life, Zorica was a caring, outgoing, woman that loved her family deeply and enjoyed the community of her church family too. She loved to travel and took many trips here in the U.S. and abroad. She was a master crafter whose needlepoint art still graces the walls in her home. She knitted and crocheted many items with her specialty being booties, called shputke, for family and friends.

Zorica was the loving mother of Vladimir Jovanovic, Mirjana (Gradimir) Markovic, Jelena (Miguel) Santiago. Cherished Baba of Jasmina (Richard) Pedi, Milos Markovic, Nikolas Santiago, and Milena Santiago. Much loved great grandmother of Violet Pedi and Lillian Pedi. Caring sister, aunt, family member, and friend to many.

Zorica is preceded in death by her beloved husband Nikola and treasured daughter Snezana.

Visitation for friends and family will take place Monday, July 21, 2025 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Road, Niles IL, 60714.
