Windle Sparks

Windle “Buck” Sparks, son of the late Ismay and Dixie Kincer Sparks was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, April 28, 1943. He entered eternal life Monday, September 29, 2025 at the Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital in Whitesburg, Kentucky being 82 years, 5 months and 1 day of age at the time of his passing.

Windle married Shirley Mullins Sparks on July 19, 1963 in Clintwood, Virginia. She passed away October 11, 2020. Windle was a US Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Windle was a member of the Thornton Old Regular Baptist Church in Mayking, Kentucky. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great friend to all that knew him.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Tammie Cornett of Mayking, Kentucky, a son, Keith (Michelle) Sparks of Bardstown, Kentucky, a sister Lovell Spangler of Kettering, Ohio, a brother, Major Sparks of Whitesburg, Kentucky.

He is survived by five grandchildren, Derek (Katie) Cornett, Austin (Stephanie) Cornett, Lane (Summer) Cornett, Buckley Sparks and Presley Sparks, eight great-grandchildren, Luke Cornett, Waylon Cornett, Leah Cornett, Hunter Cornett, Calliope Cornett, Piper Cornett, Kashton Cornett and Kamden Cornett, his loving dog, Mollie and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
