A graveside service for Wilmer Lee Jeane will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025, at Burr Ferry Cemetery with Reverend George Swain officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.

Wilmer was born February 9, 1944, in Vernon Parish and passed away August 25, 2025, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 81. He worked as a deputy for the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office and in New Llano for several years. Until his health prevented it, Wilmer enjoyed hunting and fishing.  One of his favorite past times was watching old western movies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilburn Jeane and Lola Shankle Jeane; brothers, Clyde Jeane, Jack Jeane, Malcolm Jeane, and Pete Jeane; and sisters, Lillian McKee, Faye West, Marie Kay, and Jeanette White.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Richard Jeane and Tracy Jeane and wife Pamela;

grandchildren, Dustin Jeane, Ryan Jeane, Eric Jeane, Carter Jeane, Piper Jeane, and Ashley Jeane;

great-grandchildren, Avery Jeane, Ryan Jeane Jr., Azarah Jack, and Ocean Jack;

brother, Jerald Jeane and wife Patricia;

sisters, Norma Meaux Cryer and Margie Pace and husband Dick;

and numerous nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends.
