William Warren

On August 19, 2025, William Warren passed away at the age of 80. William was born in Somers Point, New Jersey, on April 15, 1945, residing in Ocean City, New Jersey until 1971. William and family lived in Somers Point and then moved to Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.

William graduated from Ocean City High School in 1963. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1966.

In 1966, he joined the Ocean City, New Jersey Police Department and served with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Strike Force Unit for a period of time. He later took a position with the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office in 1978, working in the Special Prosecutor Organized Crime Task Force, Major Crime, Homicide, and Trial units, retiring in 1994.

William was preceded in death by his father, Dick Warren; his mother, Louis Parson; sister, Mildred Brown; and brother, Melvin Roberts.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon, his Rock, of 56 years; and his daughter, Kendra, his favorite child of one; his sister-in-law, Diane Woods; and his goddaughter, Brooklynn Smith; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

William was known to torture his friends with antics. The saying was if he didn’t torture you, he must be sick or just didn’t like you, probably the latter.
