With profound sadness we announce the passing of Mr. Buddy Braxton. He is home with his precious wife Bett, where he so longed to be.

William A. “Buddy” Braxton

1936 – 2025

William A. Braxton, lovingly known as “Uncle Buddy” or “Pa,” passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Washington County, Buddy was a devoted man of faith who loved the Lord with all his heart. He served for many years as a deacon at the Eastpoint Church of God, where he was a steady presence and servant leader in his community.

Buddy found joy and peace in life’s simple pleasures—dog hunting with friends and casting a line while fishing on the river with Granny. His quiet strength, warm heart, and sense of humor left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his three devoted daughters: Tammy Carter, Felicia Logan (husband Shawn), and Amy Cook (husband Duane). His legacy continues through his 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren—each of whom brought him immeasurable pride and joy.

Buddy is now reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 68 years, Betty Ann Braxton, whom he cherished deeply. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Scarlett and Walter B. Braxton, and his siblings William “Dink”Braxton, Willie Lee “Dobber” Braxton, and Annie Mae Flowers.

A funeral service to celebrate Buddy’s life will be held at Redemption Point Church of God in Eastpoint on Thursday, July 10th at 11:00 am. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral.

Buddy lived a righteous life, and his memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew and loved him.

“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.” – Proverbs 20:7
