Willah Emily Margaret Mackenzie, 98, of Pennsboro, WV, departed this life Friday, October 31, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on January 13, 1927, in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, a daughter of Carl and Elizabeth (Fraser) Crawford.
Willah worked in several different positions. She excelled as a kindergarten and 1st grade teacher in Boston, MA, worked as a secretary for Little Brown Publishing, managed an entire office at Secure Horizons Insurance company in CA, and worked for the government for a stint as well. Willah was a member of the Canadian Eastern Stars. Her favorite activity was going to the casinos in Ellenboro. She also enjoyed politics, Fox news, reading biographies, watching old country music videos, and spending time with her beloved doggies: Norman, Tippie, Lil’ Bit, and Buddy. In Willah’s younger days, she enjoyed square dancing with her husband.
She is survived by her loving son, Scott Mackenzie (Joette Chin) of Pennsboro, WV; grandchildren, Justin Mackenzie (Chelsea) of North Carolina and Brandon Mackenzie (Kari) of Simi, CA; great grandchildren, Blake and Keira; several loving nieces and nephews; and her dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Murray Campell Mackenzie and brother, William Crawford.
In accordance with Willah’s wishes she will be cremated. The family plans to have a memorial service at a later date. McCullough Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV is assisting the family with the arrangements.
