Walter Terlecki

Walter Terlecki, a longtime resident of Yorktown Heights, New York, passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 82.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1943, to Walter and Stasia Terlecki. He served as Production Director for Ziff-Davis, a software company, based in Manhattan, where his leadership and vision left a lasting impact. He retired in 2000 after a distinguished career.

While working full-time, Walter earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees—attending evening classes at The City University of New York to pursue his passion for publishing. It was a testament to his perseverance and love of learning.

In 1971, he married Lorraine Leib at Our Lady of Solace in the Bronx. Together, they settled in Westchester County in the late 1970s, where they raised two daughters and a joyful menagerie of pets. Walter had a green thumb and a keen eye for beauty, transforming his home into a series of lush, landscaped gardens. He had a deep love for photography, capturing favorite moments from his travels, as well as his gardens and displaying them throughout his home. His career often took him to the skies, leaving him to prefer road trips, especially to waterfront destinations where he could indulge in his love for boats.

Walter enjoyed settling down with a good book, sharing his favorite jokes and he never passed up the chance to watch a football game. When his kids were still at home, the evenings often echoed with his favorite tunes—he’d sing and dance along, turning ordinary nights into cherished memories.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorraine; his daughters, Katherine Durant and Christine Terlecki-DellaBarca; and his cherished grandchildren, Riley Durant, Samantha Durant, and Grace DellaBarca.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 25th at 11:00 AM at New St. Patrick’s Church in Yorktown Heights, New York.
