There is a need for hospice volunteers in the Carson City/Dayton area as well as the Minden, Gardnerville area and the Fernley, Fallon, Yerington area.
Companionship plays a crucial role in enhancing the emotional support and psychological wellbeing of hospice patients. A vital part of hospice is carefully selected and well-trained volunteers working alongside the professional staff.
These special people provide different types of support for the hospice program and those coping with terminal illness, grief and loss. Volunteer support includes patient companionship, respite care for caregivers, shopping, light housekeeping and office assistance.
Please contact Julie Ruiz, Eden Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, for more information at 775-351-3150.
