Virginia G. Auldredge Tweed, age 90, peacefully departed this life on July 9, 2025, at Hendersonville Health and Rehab in Hendersonville, North Carolina. Born on May 19, 1935, in Buncombe County, North Carolina, she lived a full and dedicated life.
Virginia graduated from Biltmore High School in 1953 and was a longstanding member of Calvary Baptist Church. She co-owned Tweed’s Furniture, contributing significantly to the local community through her work and steadfast dedication.
She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 57 years, Vincent J. Tweed; her parents, Claude Auldredge and Octavia Clark Auldredge; her brother Max Auldredge; and her sisters Pauline Owenby, Francis Ball, Jean Hunter, and Nanette Dowdle.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Teresa Lynn Tweed Bounds (Joseph) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and her son Jeffrey Tweed (Suzette) of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Virginia’s legacy continues with her beloved grandchildren, Phillip Brugger (Megan) of Texas, Matthew Tweed of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Elizabeth Sayles (Wayne) of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, and Crystal Williams (Glenn) of Hendersonville, North Carolina. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Heather Sayles of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, Alexander and Patrick Brugger of Texas, and Emory and Everett Williams of Hendersonville, North Carolina, as well as Elijah Tweed of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Her sister, Vivian Scott (Charles) of Fletcher, North Carolina, also survives her.
A graveside service to honor Virginia’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Terry Tweed and Dr. James Qurollo officiating. A private family viewing will take place one hour prior to the service.

Virginia will be remembered for her unwavering faith, dedication to family, and gentle spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
