Virginia Cosimeno

Virginia Lee “Ginny” Cosimeno, 81, of Jewell, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at her home. Virginia was born on November 13, 1943, in Canastota, NY, the daughter of Cecil and Genevieve (Bowman) Green. 

Virginia was a graduate of Camden Central High School and was employed as a logistics clerk for NAPA Auto Parts in Syracuse, NY, for twenty-five years.

In 1989, Ginny was united in marriage to Joseph Cosimeno. Joe passed away on July 24, 2011.

Virginia had a lifelong love for animals of all kinds throughout her life. She especially loved Chincoteague Island, Virginia, and all the wild horses that live there.

Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Schiffer (David VanSchoick), of Camden, NY; her son, Steven Schiffer, of Blossvale, NY; two grandsons, Samuel (Heather) Serway, of Taberg, and Matthew (Samantha) Serway, of Whitesboro; and four great-grandchildren, Jackson, Jonah, Aiden, and Ian. 

There are no calling hours, and private services will be held at the family’s discretion. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Rome Humane Society.
