Victor Scott Peterson, 93, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025 at his son’s home in Joseph City, Arizona. He was born in Shumway, Arizona on April 29, 1932 to Lamar Andelin Peterson and Goldie Rhoton. He was the fifth child of a family of twelve.
Victor is preceded in death by the love of his life, Blanche Collins. He is also preceded in death by his sisters Anda Crowell, Marilyn Edwards, Virginia Stradling, Bessie Adair, Julia (Judy) E. Peterson, and Sandra Young; his brothers Lamar (Larry) Andelin Peterson Jr., Joseph Lorenzo Peterson, and Keith Eldon Peterson.
Victor is survived by his daughter Vickie Lynn Williams (Mick) of Winslow Arizona, his son, Thomas Andelin Peterson (Sandy) of Joseph City, Arizona. His grandchildren Cari J. Langston of Savannah Georgia, Tisha Lynn Cake (Bobby) of Kingman, Arizona, Thomas Scott Peterson of Surprise, Arizona, and Nicole Lynn Carroll of Joseph City, Arizona. Bonus grandchildren Barbara Williams Carmody (Rich), and Mickie Williams Baca (Wes) both of Phoenix, Az. Great grandchildren Justin, Jasin, Taylor, Tatum, Michael, Charlee, Jacee, Kiara, Alexis, Symphony, Taylor, Mariah, and Autumn. His brothers Jack Gordon Peterson and Derl Peterson both of Pinetop/Lakeside, Arizona.
Victor retired from AT&SF Railway after 42 years of service in 1994. He was a lifetime member of the BPOE Lodge and a member of the White Mountain Sheriff’s Posse. He was also an avid hunter, and cattle rancher with his best friend, son Tom. He loved fishing and going to yard sales and enjoyed watching rodeos and football. His whole life he worked hard providing for his family. Victor always had a giving heart and was generous in supporting others in their time of need.
Victor was deeply loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins always making the effort to spend quality time with them. There were many close friends over the years who also became like family to him and Blanche.
Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle Scott, until we meet again.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Lakeside Cemetery.
