UPDATE: Crazy D’s Hot Chicken back open with no damage, injuries following fire

UPDATE: Owner Juan Torres has told Carson Now that the team did “exactly what they were supposed to” when a grease fire broke out. The fire was quickly contained, the area was cleared by the fire department, and after a good clean up Crazy D’s was back up and running a short time later.

Torres said he’s grateful to his team and the quick response from the fire department, as well as the concern of the community at large.

Around 11:30 a.m. Friday, Crazy D’s Hot Chicken at 1280 S. Carson Street in Carson City a fire was reported inside the restaurant.

According to dispatch, flames were seen and the restaurant was safely evacuated.

Southbound Carson Street traffic was briefly blocked while firefighters responded to the scene.
