Tommy Baxter
Tommy Ray Baxter, 67 of Woodlawn passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his home. He was born October 9, 1957 in Pine Bluff.
Tommy was a truck driver for the Cleveland County road department and was a Baptist. He loved to hunt, fish, watch westerns, and take care of his chickens, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, M.V. Baxter, his maternal grandparents, Bill and Ola Thompson, paternal grandparents, Martin Van Buren and Ellon Ford Baxter and two nephews, Jason Baxter and Michael Strachota.
Survivors include his mother, Donna Baxter, one son, Cord Baxter, a daughter, Sara Lyle (Spencer) all of Woodlawn. Also surviving are three brothers, Gary Baxter (Linda), and Larry Baxter both of Star City, and Jeff Baxter of Aberdeen. Tommy is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kris Baxter, Presley Baxter, Brooks Baxter, Gary Lyle, William Lyle, Sumberlynn Lyle, Serenity Lyle, Brylee Dehart, Natalie Sipes, two aunts, Phyllis Kay and Maye McCool and numerous nieces, nephews and many other family members.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City from 1:00 PM until funeral service time at 2:00 PM with Bruce Cox officiating. Pallbearers will be Cord Baxter, Kris Baxter, Reid Baxter, Jerry Roberts, Rodger Stewart and Billy Keith Henderson. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery at Woodlawn.
