Timothy Kraus

Timothy C. Kraus, 77, of Sterling, CO passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2025 at his home with his best friend “Gizmo” by his side.

Tim was born on May 3, 1948 to the late Paul B. and Eleanor Kraus in Sheboygan, WI. He attended local schools and worked for Badtke Service Station as a mechanic and at R-Way Manufacturing Facility.

In 1977, Tim moved to Denver, CO seeking work in construction and concrete.

Tim loved fishing and camping at his favorite place in Steamboat, CO. He was a fan of the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos but his true hero was John Wayne.

In 2011, after retirement, he moved to Sterling, CO to live a simple life outside of Denver. He took on a maintenance position at the local hotel because he could never sit still. He and his hands always needed to stay busy building or fixing something.

The trailer park Tim resided in was “His Place”. He was looked up to within his community as a mentor and a friend that was always willing to help.

Tim is survived by his two daughters Carla (Danny Amiot) Butzen and Carrie (William) Kuehl. Both of Sheboygan. A son, Timothy (Krista) Kraus of Galveston, TX. sister-in-laws JoAnne, Betty, Cathy, and Susie all of Sheboygan. Twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, five brothers, Paul, Dick, Tom, Freddy, and Gary. A son, Michael Kraus and a granddaughter, Amber Bruns.

Cremation took place on August 1, 2025 at Tennant Funeral Home in Sterling, CO. His cremains were brought back to Sheboygan with his daughters and to Galveston, TX with his son Timmy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Sheboygan.

The family would like to thank all the people that lived in Dad’s community within the trailer park for their friendship and always looking out for each other, especially his dear friend Margarita and her son. Thank you to Tennant Funeral Home for their support and taking care of the family’s needs.
