Thomas R. Janda
Of Williams Bay
Thomas Janda was born October 20, 1931 in Berwyn, Illinois to Ludwig and Margaret (McCandlis) Janda. He passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Williams Bay Health Services.
Tom was a Letter Carrier for the Berwyn Post Office for 30 years before retiring to Williams Bay, Wisconsin. He was a big fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs and especially enjoyed having a boat parked on Lake Geneva and fishing for over 45 years. He loved the water so much that he also worked at the Boat Launch helping people get their boats in and out of the water and setting up courses for the weekly Sail Boat races. When he wasn’t filleting fish, Tom could be found adding seeds to his bird feeders in the front and back of his house, watering his garden, or watching a good Western on TV.
Tom is survived by his sons Tom (Sue) Janda II, Gary Janda, and Jeff (Vania) Janda; granddaughter Christine (Brent) Edelcup; great granddaughter Teagan; sisters Shirley (Dean) DelBene, Joannie Borek, and Carole Hendricks; brother Buddy (Nancy) Janda; sister-in-law Roberta Janda; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn, grandson Tommy Janda; brothers Chuck Janda and Bobby Janda; and brothers-in-law Don Borek and Don Hendricks.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4 from 10:00 AM until the time of prayers at 11:00 AM at Toynton’s Walworth Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha St., Walworth, WI. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Lake Geneva.
