Thomas David Doll, 78, of St. Clairsville Ohio passed away at the age of 78 on October 16, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Born on June 15, 1947, in Barnesville, Ohio, a son of the late George and Mary C. Dale Doll.

Throughout his life, Thomas dedicated himself to his work as a Federal Mine Inspector for the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), where he contributed to ensuring the safety and well-being of countless workers. His career was marked by a deep commitment to the welfare of others and a steadfast dedication to his duties.

A proud veteran, Thomas served honorably in the United States Air Force, embodying the values of service and sacrifice. His love for the great outdoors was evident through his involvement with the St. Clairsville Bass Masters, where he could often be found enjoying his favorite pastime—fishing. He was also a valued member of the American Legion Post 159, relishing the camaraderie and shared experiences with fellow veterans.

Thomas’s passion for fishing was unparalleled, and he found immense joy and peace in the simple pleasure of casting a line and waiting patiently for a bite. His love for the sport was infectious, and he cherished every moment spent by the water.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith “Judy” Ballog Doll on December 28, 2018 and his brother Michael Doll.

Survivors include his children; Shelly (Jerry) Marling, and Matt Doll, a brother Daniel Doll as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at CARE Funeral and Cremation Specialists on Wednesday October 22, 2025 from 3-7pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday October 23, 2025 from 10am until time of service at 11am. Thomas will be laid to rest immediately following in Holly Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by the Belmont County Veterans Honor Guard.
